Technical visit introducing our candidates to natural gas equipment design and operation
We at The European Training Center combine our knowledge of operations and technology with a natural curiosity to constantly explore more efficient ways of doing things. Our technical visits bring candidates into the workplace to offer them the opportunity to see what it’s like to work in their fields of interest. On the visit, they also get a chance to speak with professionals who know what skill training is key to job success.
This visit has introduced our candidates to natural gas equipment design and operation. Following the flow of gas from the wellhead to the sales gas pipeline, calculations are performed on choke sizing, orifice metering, separators, hydrate suppression, glycol dehydration, compression, sour gas treatment and refrigeration. Skills were applied to the hands-on operation of gas processing equipment including a small scale distillation plant and amine unit.
The scale of the operation, which sends up to 70 million cubic meters of gas a day to the rest of Turkey, demands in-depth planning to safely and efficiently manage hundreds of people working across the site. When the gas plant was being expanded to receive gas from more fields our candidates were introduced to the concept of computerizing and simulations for connecting teams around the site using iPads and a new app to manage the task better.
Our post-visit surveys confirm that these visits open candidates’ eyes to new possibilities
